Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive, and flexible insurance education options for both pre-licensing and continuing education with unmatched service and support throughout the process.

Our History

Commonwealth Schools of Insurance was founded in 1984 in Louisville, KY by Kentucky native Bob Davis. Mr. Davis had 20 years experience with insurance sales and training when he saw the need for a dedicated training facility for prospective insurance agents and opened Commonwealth Schools. Bob’s son Jim Davis graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelors of business administration, majoring in Insurance in 1994 and joined Commonwealth Schools as an instructor. In 2002, Jim Davis took on the role of president and is still actively running the company today.

Commonwealth Schools has instructors in both Louisville and Lexington who lead in-person and zoom instruction. They also offer several self-study online courses.

Commonwealth Schools has trained and maintained relationships with so many agents in Kentucky and Indiana throughout the years, that I'm constantly running into people who we've helped - even when I'm traveling. It really is like an extended family.
